Washington Commanders have named rookie Drew Stevens as the new starting kicker after a training camp battle that pushed former third-round pick Jake Moody off the depth chart.
This decisive move could help stabilize a position that’s been a revolving door—seven kickers in two years—while offering Moody a chance to catch on elsewhere before the NFL season starts.
All attention now turns to quarterback Jayden Daniels as fans await news on whether he’ll take snaps in preseason action against the Detroit Lions. With memories of last season’s cautious approach and injuries fresh on everyone’s mind, the decision could set the tone for Daniels’ readiness and confidence. Will getting real-game reps silence outside noise, or does the risk outweigh the benefit as the franchise eyes a turnaround?
