NFL Week 1 is here, and the Washington Commanders face mounting pressure as three key injuries could reshape their matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles.
All eyes are on Odafe Oweh, the $96 million pass rusher whose lingering training camp injury threatens Washington’s revamped defense. Running back Jacory Croskey-Merritt, coming off an impressive rookie season, is poised for a breakout—if he stays healthy. Meanwhile, Nick Allegretti’s status on the offensive line remains a major concern, with little depth available if he can’t suit up.
Coach Dan Quinn is signaling a fresh approach after last season’s 5-12 disaster, naming captains like Jayden Daniels and Terry McLaurin to provide new leadership and accountability. With new offensive and defensive coordinators, intensified practices, and a renewed focus on team chemistry, can the Commanders turn the page and pull off a Week 1 upset against the Eagles?
