Has David Blough already cost the Washington Commanders TWO wins in his first five games as offensive coordinator?
Blough is just five games into his tenure as Washington's OC, but we've already seen some COSTLY mistakes that may have changed the outcomes of games.
And the disastrous ending to the Commanders' 27-27 tie against the New York Giants has brought those concerns to the forefront.
But here's where I draw the line.
I ultimately put the MOST blame on DAN QUINN.
Quinn is the HEAD COACH. He knows he's working with a young quarterback in Jayden Daniels and a first-time offensive coordinator in David Blough.
That means when the game is on the line, Quinn HAS to take charge.
With no timeouts remaining and a chance to win in overtime, the situation needed to be communicated CLEARLY to Blough and Daniels.
Everybody needed to understand exactly what had to happen.
Instead, Washington let a golden opportunity slip away without even attempting a game-winning field goal.
Daniels deserves some blame. Blough deserves some blame.
But the responsibility for making sure everyone is prepared ultimately falls on QUINN.
The Commanders are 1-3-1, and these are the kinds of mistakes that can completely derail a season.
Is David Blough's inexperience becoming a serious problem? And does Dan Quinn deserve the MOST blame for Washington's coaching failures?
